Although we provide aerial photos with all of our projects that are <5cm accurate for measurements. We also offer services in digital mapping, making sure all of the necessary infrastructure is included.
Elevation models
Contour maps
Digital mapping of roads, railways, watercourses etc.
We provide Environmental data that enables professionals to make accurate decisions regarding:
Erosion;
Surface runoff;
flood lines;
Agricultural development;
Urban planning;
3D modeling;
Construction.
Our data is provided in all formats that is easily accessed and interpreted.
...We provide needed data before, during and after construction. This includes:
Contour maps;
Volume calculations;
Placement;
Progress reports;
As builds;
3D modeling;
Aerial photos.
We specialize in high precision construction such as railways that needs to be constructed <2mm. Currently working on PRASA rails across the country.
...We have a dedicated team in the mining sector. We offer monthly cost effective mining solutions, these include:
Stockpiling;
Aerial LiDAR;
Aerial photos;
Volume calculations;
3D modeling.
We make use of aerial gathered data using the latest hardware and software, this enables us to cut cost and offer data more frequently and accurately.

The main problem with this project was that access to the entire area was not possible due to high and dense vegetation.
Flood lines needed to be determined for future developments in the area. The project area included roads, bridges and water courses. In these situations, making use of Aerial Drone Survey techniques is absolutely perfect.
After processing the data, we made use of filtering tools to be left with only the ground data (Digital surface model or DTM). From these points we generated a contour map that was used to determine the flood lines as needed by civil engineers.

The hospital has now been empty for more than 18 years. The need for an accurate ortho photo and 3D model came when it was decided that the Kempton Park Hospital would be demolished.
Underlying services needed to be mapped and 3D models needed to make accurate decisions from a office space.
The model can be used in modelling software to add or remove structures in order to get a better representation of what’s to come.

In most cases the terrain model will be used when it comes to design. But using the surface model one can get better insight of the surroundings and design around them. This could include landscape properties such as trees and other buildings.
Surface models are a representation of what you will find in the field. The model includes all objects. For engineering purposes, these objects are removed using filters and algorithms to gain a true DTM that are used in most cases.

For someone like an Architect, Landscape architect or Environmental specialist it is sometimes needed to make use of the Digital terrain model to make accurate decisions before starting with a project.
With our methods of surveying all the objects are captured. We provide both DSM and DTM to our client’s as well as Orth photos.

The court house in Polokwane (Pietersburg) was burned to the ground back in 2012, recently it was decided to re-construct the building to its old glory.
The purpose of this project was to determine the exact heights as well as checking the placement of the beams that will support the roof. Although building plans was available, our client decided to make sure the roof will fit before beginning with construction.
With all of the building rubble in the way it was difficult and close to impossible to get all the needed measurements by hand. We decided to send out a UAV before leaving to gather Aerial LiDAR points in case we would need it.
After processing the points and comparing to the building plans, nothing lined up or made sense. We decided to process the aerial UAV survey data.
On the 3D generated point cloud we could see that the building measurements was out by almost 1m. We then generated an Orthomosaics and superimposed the building plans.
Although the roof designed was already completed by our client, construction was yet to start. Making use of the Aerial photos saved hundreds of thousands in construction cost. The Aerial photos will also be used to update the current building plans as they are <2cm accurate at the height that was flown.

Summary: To calculate the volume of radioactive piles in order to rehabilitate the area for future use.
Because of the nature of the survey, we decided to make use of Aerial UAV Survey techniques. The type soil which was mainly white in color led to flying very low to relative ground. This enabled us to get high resolution data, <3cm ground sampling distance (GSD) for spot height.
With this technology we could then determine the volumes as accurately as possible. Having spot height every 3cm makes it possible to include smaller piles that normal surveying techniques will usually miss or skip. It is also possible to measure piles accurately that do not have a uniformed shape.
As an end result, we were able to calculate the volumes on all of the piles as well as provide the client with high resolution Aerial photo for GIS and 3D modelling purposes.
